Smith Systems is an ISO-9001 registered, Atex registered, TS 16949 compliant, WBE manufacturer of sensors for speed, motion, and temperature, as well as controls, and custom instrumentation and cabling associated with these sensing devices. We are also pursuing IRIS registration to add to our list of quality standard registrations. Our capabilities range from commercial standards (found in assembly and process machinery) the ultra-miniature high-reliability types used in aircraft, to rugged sensors for reliable performance in hostile environments. Smith Systems, Inc. is a primary supplier of environmentally protected transducers to major railways monitoring axle speed as feedback for anti-skid braking control, bearing temperature, fluid temperature, and other applications. We are an approved and qualified source for flight hardware and have supplied units for both civilian and military applications such as the Northrop F-5, F-20 aircraft, the V-22 Osprey, the F16, the Trident Missile, and the Space Shuttle. Many of these sensors must survive high vibration, shock, extremes of temperature, salts, acids, solvents and fuels.
