Carolina Unmanned Vehicles (CUV) is a small woman-owned company with a market focus on autonomous and remotely operated sensor platforms, primarily Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) and aerostats. We provide developmental work, technical support and analysis of systems and related items. We have developed and delivered several versions of a small mobile tethered blimp, the Lightweight Aerostat System (LAS) to carry payloads up to 30 kg. The system can carry Electro-Optic and IR payloads for very long term surveillance of logistics sites, camps and other facilities, and is adaptable to COMINT / SIGINT payloads and communications relays. Customers’ include the Army Rapid Equipping Force, USAF, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Sandia National Laboratory We have provided project management support on modifications and subsystem development on commercial aircraft. This included writing Engineering Change Requests, Safety of Flight certification, and test procedures to support flight safety certification. CUV personnel are experienced in military and civilian systems as diverse as cruise missiles, satellites and high mobility ground vehicles. Our background includes extensive test planning, conduct and documentation.
